Statesmen of the Week: Malik Edwards and Joslyn Herbeck

Oskaloosa–Men’s basketball player Malik Edwards (So., Drexel Hill, Pa., Business Management) and women’s basketball player Joslyn Herbeck (Jr., Fond du Lac, Wis., Sports Management) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of October 24-30, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Edwards opened the season with a career-high 32 points against Great Lakes Christian (Mich.) last Friday, going 12-for-18 from the field and 6-for-11 from behind the arc. He also tallied four assists and three rebounds in that outing. The sophomore followed that up with a seven-point, three-assist effort against Governors State (Ill.) on Saturday.

In last Saturday’s season opener, Herbeck paced the Statesmen with a career-high 20 points against Calvary Bible (Mo.), including knocking down four three-pointers. She also pulled down eight rebounds and stole three balls.
