Statesmen of the Week: Brian Thomas and Emily Ferguson

Oskaloosa–Baseball player Brian Thomas (Sr., Shingle Springs, Calif., Sports Management) and women’s lacrosse player Emily Ferguson (Sr., Waterloo, N.Y., Exercise Science) have been named Statesmen of the Week for the week of March 18-24, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Thomas put on a show in a win against Culver-Stockton last Saturday, tossing a three-hit shutout. The senior struck out three batters and did not permit a walk. He closed out the win by retiring the final 12 batters he faced.

Ferguson had a huge outing versus Mount Mercy last Saturday. In her team’s victory, the senior tied for the squad lead with seven goals alongside eight draw controls and four ground balls.
