Statesmen of the Week: Andon Herrera and Lilly Cote

Oskaloosa–Men’s golfer Andon Herrera (So., Katy, Texas, Business Management) and women’s soccer player Lilly Cote (Jr., Sioux City, Iowa, Psychology) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for September 16-22, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Herrera excelled at the Central Kansas Classic last Monday and Tuesday, tying for third place out of 73 golfers. He posted a two-round score of 141, highlighted by rounds of 69 and 72, with eight birdies and 18 pars.

Cote played a pivotal role in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against #18 MidAmerica Nazarene, scoring both goals for the Statesmen. She tallied four shots in the tie.
