Statesmen Move Up to #11

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s soccer team improved on its national standing as the NAIA released its 10th top-25 poll Wednesday.

WPU (15-4, 9-2 Heart), which defeated MidAmerica Nazarene in its lone contest last week, picked up a spot to #11 with 337 points. The navy and gold have now been ranked for seven consecutive polls.

WPU is again one of five Heart of America Athletic Conference programs in the rating with all five in the top 25. Central Methodist remains #1 with 498 points and 17 first-place votes, while #13 Grand View, #16 Baker, and #24 Missouri Valley join WPU and CMU.

CMU is followed in the top five by Columbia (Mo.) (with the final first-place vote), Mobile (Ala.), Westmont (Calif.), and William Carey (Miss.).

William Penn hosts Grand View in the Heart Tournament Semifinals Wednesday at 4 p.m.
