Statesmen Lead All Schools with 17 Academic Honorees
Oskaloosa–The William Penn shotgun sports team was extremely well represented in the scholarly ranks as the ACUI announced its Academic Achievement award recipients.
A total of 17 Statesmen collected the laurel as WPU had the most recipients of any of the 109 teams from all divisions.
Seven members of William Penn’s program currently own perfect 4.00 Grade Point Averages, including Colton Heintz-Kuderer (Fr., Mabel, Minn., Biology), Nikolle Kussatz (Fr., Leighton, Iowa, Biology), Tanner Muff (So., Lincoln, Neb., General Accounting), Nathan Roberts (Fr., Eddyville, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering), Brianna Thompson (Sr., Campbellsport, Wis., Psychology), Emily Uitermarkt (Jr., Otley, Iowa, Elementary Education), and Angie Wolfert (Jr., Waterford, Wis., Nursing).
Kade Dunkin (Jr., Hamilton, Iowa, Biology) is right behind that grouping with a 3.99 GPA, while Carver Van Zee (So., Pella, Iowa, Industrial Technology) (3.94) and Russell Malterud (Grad., North Branch, Minn., Master’s of Organizational Leadership) (3.93) are also above 3.90.
Hunter Block (Sr., Eldridge, Iowa, Business Management) is the lone Statesmen in the 3.80-3.89 range at 3.85, while KayLynn Sieber (Jr., Marshall, Minn., Biology) (3.74) and Colten Uitermarkt (Grad., Otley, Iowa, Master’s of Organizational Leadership) (3.72) are north of 3.70.
Wyatt Kresser (Fr., Independence, Iowa, Business Management) leads the remaining WPU members at 3.64, while Holly Boeke (Jr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Biology) (3.61), Lane Arrowood (Jr., Newton, Iowa, Biology) (3.60), and Jaxon Smith (Fr., Yuba City, Calif., Industrial Technology) (3.57) also meet the criteria.
To be recognized, student-athletes must own at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
