Statesmen Fourth at Eagles Baker Challenge

Addison, Ill.–The William Penn men’s bowling team previewed postseason format at the Roto Grip Eagles Baker Challenge Saturday and Sunday.

The Statesmen placed fourth out of 17 teams with 7,378 pins in 10 sets of Bakers, while Robert Morris (Ill.) led qualifying with 7,674 pins. xBowling Team Sectionals and Nationals are contested entirely in Baker format.

WPU was knocked off in the quarterfinals of bracket competition by eventual champion and #5 seed Purdue (Ind.) 3-0. Purdue defeated #2 seed McKendree (Ill.) 3-2 in the final.

William Penn team members included: Michael Applegate (Sr., Council Bluffs, Iowa, Secondary Education), Quincy Bruce (So., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, General Accounting), Stian Hoff (Jr., Orkanger, Norway, General Accounting) , Ryan Howard (Jr., King, N.C., Information Technology), Jacques Kaune (Sr., Anchorage, Alaska, Business Management), Lucas Perdieu (Jr., DeWitt, Iowa, Public Accounting), Travis Scott (Sr., West Saint Paul, Minn., Physical Education), and Nick Walker (Fr., Zeeland, Mich., Business Management).

Next Up: William Penn travels back to Addison, Ill. to compete in the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic Saturday and Sunday.
