Oskaloosa–Make it now four straight weeks of improvement as the William Penn football team has picked up one more slot in the seventh NAIA top-25 rating.

The Statesmen (6-2, 2-0 North), winners of three in a row, are now #13 with 179 points. The navy and gold remain the third best team in the Heart of America Athletic Conference as #3 Baker (Kan.) and #4 Grand View both moved up one spot on the loss by previous #1 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). WPU’s opponent this Saturday–Benedictine (Kan.)–also gained a position to #15.

The LWC loss opened things up in the top five as defending national champion Southern Oregon, with eight first-place votes and 334 points, is once again #1. Morningside (six top votes), Baker, Grand View, and Doane (Neb.) (one first-place vote) round out the top five.

WPU hosts Benedictine Saturday in a Heart North Division matchup at 11 a.m.
