Spirit Squads Fall to St. Ambrose in Dual

Davenport–The William Penn Competitive Dance and Cheer teams opened their dual season on the road at St. Ambrose Sunday.

The dance group fell to the Fighting Bees by a tally of 83.25-66.05, while the cheer crew came up on the losing end as well, 98.5-71.5. It was the second competition of the year for the dance team and the first for the cheerleaders.

“Both teams did well in our first dual,” Head Coach Lisa Conner said. “We have solid routines the athletes are comfortable with, and now we will advance the difficulty to raise our scoring. We are proud of these young athletes.”

Next Up: Both teams will travel to Des Moines Sunday to face Grand View and Graceland in dual action.
