Spectacular Lightwire Theater Performs in Oskaloosa
OSKALOOSA, IA — America’s Got Talent semi-finalists Lightwire Theater will perform two shows in Oskaloosa at the George Daily Auditorium. The Ugly Duckling and the Tortoise and the Hare on Wednesday, March 26 features Lightwire’s unique, cutting edge technology. The performers will be almost invisible in a dark theatre, except for the glowing creatures sculpted out of electroluminescent tubes they wear as costumes.
The tour will arrive in Oskaloosa on Tuesday and begin their set-up. On Wednesday morning, they will perform a private show for local students.
“It’s important for young people to see theatre,” said Youth Director Andy McGuire. “That’s why we work with the schools every year to provide a free school show.”
A public performance will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. with a Q&A with the performers afterwards.
Tickets are available from the George Daily Auditorium box office in person, by calling 641-672-0799, or online at www.georgedaily.org. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for students.
This engagement is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, which is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from the Iowa Arts Council. This performance is supported locally by the Optimist Club of Oskaloosa and Mahaska Health Partnership.
