Skyler Randall Grafton, 30, of Oskaloosa died on January 25, 2023 at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born April 4, 1992, in Iowa City, the son of Nathan Creer and Lavonna Winchel.
Skyler attended school in Burlington and Iowa City. Following school, he moved around from Iowa City to Burlington and finally to Oskaloosa.
On May 5, 2017, he was united in marriage to John Grafton. He worked various places in the towns that he lived in and last was working at Hy-Vee in Oskaloosa.
Skyler enjoyed music and dancing. He was very talented at doing hair and make-up. He was always a happy person and full of joy. He had a positive impact on all those around him.
His family includes his husband, John Grafton of Le Claire, Iowa; his mother, Lavonna Overstreet of Oskaloosa; his father, Nathan Creer of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers and sisters: Amber (& Brad) Askvig of Iowa City, Erin Winchel of Cedar Rapids, Elizabeth Winchel of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Ashton (& Samantha) Winchel of Oskaloosa; he was a beloved uncle to eight nephews and two nieces; and a grandson to his grandmother, Mildred Winchel of Burlington; he was also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and aunts and uncles.
As was Skyler’s wish, his body has been cremated.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
