Mahaska County Sheriff

From a Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office Press Release:

On October 2, 2010 at 6:55 p.m. the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a farmer stating that he had located skeletal remains in a field near Fremont, Iowa. Deputies arrived and located what appeared to be human remains.

The remains have been indentified by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office as Jacob Allen Reeves of Fremont, Iowa. Final autopsy results are still pending. However, due to the area and the nature of the circumstances where the remains were found, investigators do not suspect foul play.

Jacob Allen Reeves was reported missing to the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, in Oskaloosa on October 18, 2008.

This case remains under investigation by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office.
