GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College junior Vidushi Sinha won the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic over the weekend and has earned Midwest Conference (MWC) Women’s Golf Performer of the Week honors.

Weekly Notes

Sinha outlasted 99 other golfers in a loaded field to claim top honors. Sinha shot a sizzling one-under-par 71 on the opening day at Ironwood Golf Club, and topped that on Sunday with a 70 for a final score of 141. She was the only golfer under par for the tournament, as the runners-up both shot 4-over-par. Sinha, who has now won five medalist titles in her collegiate career, propelled Grinnell to fourth place in the 17-team field.

Notable Performers
Amanda Lee helped Lake Forest College win a pair of events last week. She tied for first place at Elmhurst College’s Bluejay Invitational on Tuesday with a round of 77, the second-lowest score in program history. The Foresters won the four-team event by four strokes. Lake Forest tied for first out of nine teams at the two-day Marian University Invite over the weekend and Lee tied for eighth place overall with a score of 178. She also provided the tiebreaker edge as the back nine of her team-best final round of 84 was better than that of Concordia Wisconsin’s top player of the day.

Jessica Dyksterhouse of St. Norbert College won the individual title this past weekend at the 36-hole Benedictine Fall Invite. Dyksterhouse shot a 79-82–161 to top a field of 23 players, becoming the first St. Norbert golfer to win a title of a meet with more than three teams since September 2008. Her round of 79 is the first sub-80 round for a St. Norbert golfer in at least the last seven seasons.
