Sieda Community Action Hosts Annual Holiday Tour of Homes in Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA, IA – Sieda Community Action is set to host the 3rd Annual Holiday Tour of Homes in Oskaloosa, a festive event that has become a cherished tradition in the community. This year, the event, which has been a part of the community’s holiday season for approximately 15 years, is proudly presented by Legacy Real Estate Group.
The tour, which began under the stewardship of Sieda Community Action in 2021, features a carefully curated selection of five homes, each representing unique styles and eras from the early 1900s to the late 2010s. This diversity offers visitors a rich tapestry of holiday traditions and decorations.
In an effort to enhance the visitor experience, Sieda Community Action has partnered with photographer Madison Laine for holiday-themed photo opportunities, featuring a vintage truck for a nostalgic touch. The event also includes the Honey Bee Coffee Camper, serving hot beverages to visitors.
A highlight of the tour is the silent auction, featuring seven beautifully decorated trees donated and designed by Mahaska Drug, with additional contributions from Sieda and Stam’s Garden Center. The auction, which is currently active online at givebutter.com/c/siedatourofhomes2023, will conclude on December 2nd at 3 pm.
The tour will also feature a range of activities at the office, including refreshments, last-minute ticket sales, and outdoor events at Legacy Real Estate Group. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the auctioned trees, enjoy holiday photography, and indulge in offerings from a coffee truck.
Proceeds from the Holiday Tour of Homes are instrumental in supporting Sieda Community Action’s various programs and projects. Serving over 6,500 low-income households annually through approximately 30 different initiatives, the organization often faces a gap between available funding and client needs. Events like the Tour of Homes play a crucial role in bridging this gap, especially for programs lacking dedicated funding.
