Sherry Colleen Pfeiffer, age 79, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the MHP Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 6, 1944, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Letha Thatcher Ellsworth.
She attended school in Waterloo and later earned her G.E.D.
On November 4, 1960, she was united in marriage to Lee Pfeiffer at the Little White Church on the Hill in Waterloo.
Sherry began working at Howar Shoes while also practicing real estate. She later took a job at Hy-Vee until going to work for Kum and Go. Lastly, she was working at Wal-Mart until she was no longer able.
She enjoyed doing needlepoint, reading, attending Bible Study and was a member of T.O.P.S. at the Y.M.C.A.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Lee Pfeiffer of Oskaloosa; her children, Todd (Jill) Pfeiffer of Edwards, Missouri, and Marty Pfeiffer of Oskaloosa; her grandchildren, Kelley Pfeiffer, Aaron Pfeiffer and Lindsey Pfeiffer; 8 great grandchildren; her siblings, Miola “Pic” (&Paul) Lanphier and Terry Ellsworth.
She is preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Letha and Cecil Hendricks and two siblings, Jesse Ellsworth Sr. and Charlotte Hendricks.
Visitation will be held an hour before service time on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel with Sherry’s family present to greet relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Molly Goodrich officiating. Burial will follow services at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Memorials may be made to the family.
