Sheriff’s Office Charges Rose Hill Man With Theft, Burglary, And Violation Of No Contact Order

On Tuesday, July 03, 2018, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officials from the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 2281 Lincoln Avenue, in rural Mahaska County, regarding the violation of a no contact order. Upon arriving to this address, it was discovered that 2 dogs and a 2011 Palamino camper had been taken from there, without the owner’s consent.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies located this stolen camper, being pulled behind a pickup in the 3100 block of JamesTrail. A traffic stop was conducted on these vehicles and the driver was arrested. The driver of the truck was identified as 33-year-old Mark Jacob Humphrey of rural Rose Hill.
Humphrey was taken to the Mahaska County Jail where he was incarcerated on the following charges: Theft in the 1st degree (class C felony), Burglary in the 3rd degree (class D felony), violation of a no-contact order (contempt of court), driving under suspension (simple misdemeanor) and failure to have an ignition interlocking device in his vehicle (serious misdemeanor).
Humphrey will make his initial appearance in the Mahaska County Magistrate Court on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018.
