Sheriff’s Office Charges Man In Connection With Stolen Vehicles

Mahaska County Sheriff’s Department

On Wednesday, February 13th, 2019, at approximately 7:50 a.m., the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a stolen vehicle. This vehicle, a 2014 Dodge Utility Truck, was owned by PAR Electric Contracting out of Kansas City, Mo., and was reported stolen from 2686 Highway 63, Oskaloosa. It was reported that this theft took place sometime during the evening hours.

Sheriff’s Officials located this truck at the Eddyville Inn, located at 616 Main Street, in Eddyville, at approximately 8:15 a.m. this date.

Following an investigation into this matter, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Robert Glenn Crabb of Burlington, Iowa. Crabb was a hotel guest at the Eddyville Inn and was charged with two counts of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent (aggravated misdemeanors). During this investigation, it was discovered that Crabb had taken a second truck from the PAR job site the previous evening also.

Crabb was incarcerated in the Mahaska County Jail and will make his initial appearance in court later today. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.

—As a reminder, a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
