The flag flying over the bandstand during the month of September is in honor of Calvin LeRoye Musgrove.

Calvin entered the military, March 9, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in Guam for 18 months where he helped build air strips to aide in the Korean War. After his hand was injured, Cal returned to the Walter Reed Medical Center where he spent another 18 months recuperating. He was honorably discharged March 8, 1957.

Following his discharge, Cal returned to Oskaloosa where he was employed by Vogt Heating Company and Brackney Tin Shop. Cal moved to Pierre, SD in 1962, where he worked for Schmit Sheet Metal. In 1983 he returned to Oskaloosa, he was then employed by Cummingham, Inc. until his retirement in 1999.
