Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of March’s Player of the Month awards.

Junior men’s track and field athlete Derek Seddon (Knoxville, Iowa, Physical Education) claimed the Male award, while senior women’s golfer Demi Coertze (Johannesburg, South Africa, Digital Communication) took home the Female honor. The award is the fourth for Seddon and the seventh for Coertze.

Seddon opened the month by winning his second career All-America award, placing seventh in the indoor shot put. He broke two school records at NAIA Nationals. The junior then started the outdoor campaign by again qualifying for nationals in the shot put. Seddon placed in the top 10 in all four competitions.

Coertze won one of the two events in which she competed. She posted an 80.8 stroke average over four rounds, highlighted by a low score of 79.
