Season Culminates with Regional

Baldwin City, Kan.–The Statesmen dance team closed out its 2024 campaign by battling at the NAIA Midwest Regional Qualifier Saturday.

William Penn finished sixth out of eight teams with a final round score of 79.86 points (80.63 in the prelims). Baker claimed the championship with 90.56 points.

Team members included Jili Butler (So., Ottumwa, Iowa), Taegin Butler (Sr., Ottumwa, Iowa), Kyah Chamberlin (Fr., Oskaloosa, Iowa), Kate Coley (Fr., Streator, Ill.), Kylie Coley (Fr., Streator, Ill.), Bianca Cooney (So., Little Rock, Ark.), Grace Evans (So., West Liberty, Iowa, Psychology), Emily Garcia (Fr., Davenport, Iowa), Abby Nelson (Sr., Belmond, Iowa), Natalie Redlinger (Jr., Sigourney, Iowa), and A’niyah Thomas (Sr., Inner Grove Heights, Minn.).

“This team absolutely killed it this weekend,” Head Coach Abby Reynolds said. “We got scores we deserved and worked hard for. We were hungry and it showed out on the floor. I could not be more happy with the routine we put out there this weekend.”

“In the last few years, this team has grown and showed who and what WPU Dance is,” Reynolds added. “I am a proud coach and am really looking forward to what is still to come for this program.”
