Scott Shaw, age 67, of New Sharon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He was born on July 13, 1955, the son of Lester and Lena (Waller) Shaw in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Scott attended Oskaloosa High School and graduated with the Class of 1974.
On April 18, 1975, Scott was united in marriage to Kathy Terpstra at the Central Church in Oskaloosa.
Scott had a lifelong love of farming and showing cattle. He also enjoyed the comradery of his fellow farmers and attending the Southern Iowa Fair every year.
His family includes his wife, Kathy Shaw of New Sharon; his children, Kyle (& Heather) Shaw of New Sharon and Stacy Sammons of New Sharon; his grandchildren: Cheyenne Shaw, Gage Shaw and Cyler Sammons; his siblings: Steve (& Sheryl) Shaw of Oskaloosa, Joel (& Chris) Shaw of Batavia and Jeff Shaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-infancy, Marsha Shaw.
As was his wish, Scott’s body will be cremated and there are no formal services planned at this time. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Southern Iowa Fair and sent to Bates Funeral Chapel, 114 South 7th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577.
