Sam Stewart, 52, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home in Oskaloosa. Samuel Gregg Stewart, son of Kenneth E. and Grace R. (Moody) Stewart, was born on August 25, 1969, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Growing up, Sam attended the Oskaloosa schools and graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1988.
After his education, he was an agent for Geico Insurance Company and later managed rental properties for his family.
Sam was married to Vicki Gale, and together they raised their three children, Tori, Samantha, and Zane. They later divorced.
Sam loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was also a talented musician, playing the french horn, flute, and trumpet, and was awarded a music scholarship to the University of Northern Iowa.
His family includes his daughters, Tori Stafford of North English, IA, and Samantha Stewart of Coralville, IA; and his son, Zane Stewart of Overton, NV.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma of the Good News Chapel officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery near Eddyville.
