Roxanne Stout, 67, of Oskaloosa died Monday, November 15, 2021, at the MHP Hospital Emergency Room in Oskaloosa. She was born January 6, 1954, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Russell L. and Shirley Benke Stout.

Roxanne graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1973.

Following high school, she worked in housekeeping at Shady Lodge in Oskaloosa.

Roxanne was a faithful member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa. She cherished her church family and looked forward to Ladies Guild and Bible studies. Roxanne also looked forward to the Southern Iowa Fair every year. She always had several projects on display in the Textile Category. She also enjoyed volunteering in the textiles area and looking at all the entries. She delighted in spending time with her family whom she deeply loved.

Her family includes her three siblings, Cheryl Ward of Louisiana, Missouri, Rochelle Bethune of Oskaloosa, and Jay (& Sharon) Stout of Fort Collins, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Mary Stout of Oskaloosa; a niece, Brittany Bethune; three nephews, Cary Bethune, Caleb Stout, and Ryan Stout; one great niece; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Russell “Rusty” Stout; a nephew, Jeremy Bethune; and a brother-in-law, Bucky Ward.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the St. John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Samuel Beltz officiating.
As was Roxanne’s wish her body has been cremated.
Burial of her urn will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family will be at the St. John Lutheran Church on Thursday from 12 noon until service time at 2.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa, IA.
