Roger Lynch, 78, of Oskaloosa died at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born March 13, 1941, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Cora McBeth Lynch.

Roger graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1959.

On April 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to Marsha Wood in Oskaloosa. Following their marriage, the family lived in Delta and Sigourney.

Roger worked for Kingsbury Homes in Sigourney during that time. He later took an office job at a home building company in Illinois. After a few years there, the family returned to Oskaloosa. Roger drove truck for M. Shrago and Son and Ideal Ready Mix in Oskaloosa.

Roger had a lifelong love of racing. In his youth he built cars and raced them, later in life he looked forward to going to the Sprint Car Races in Knoxville. He was a talented woodworker and built several pieces of furniture. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and working on small projects. He also enjoyed watching NFL Football.

His family includes his daughter: Sherri Lynch of Clear Lake; two granddaughters: Shawna (& Erik) Myers and Kylee (& Matt) Deleon; 5 great grandchildren: Jakob Myers, Hailey Myers, Kinsley, Myers, Evy Grace Deleon, and Ellee Kate Deleon; and a sister in law, Nina Shrago of Cape Coral, Florida.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha; one son-in-law, Mark Van Engelenhoven; five brothers: Robert, Lawrence, Jimmy, Gerald “Jerry” and Earl Lynch; four sisters: Doris Lynch, Rosemary Bradley, Josephine Bever and an infant sister Lillian Lynch; his parents in law: Harold and Lenora Wood; and a niece, Arianne Dawn Shrago.

It was Roger’s wish to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
