Rockets Win Over Chariton

by Coach Gladys Genskow

Great win tonight! Chariton really challenged us all night. They have improved in their hitting since our last meeting the beginning of the season. I felt we controlled the pass most of the night, but we couldn’t terminate. Chariton was scrappy on their defense and kept bringing it right back at us making for us having to attack, but we just couldn’t finish it. I thought we served very aggressive tonight. The first set we missed too many serves, but Chariton traded serves with us that kept us in the match. We again played inconsistent and hesitant and will have to clean that up by Monday night. Our girls are competitors and I am proud of how hard they are playing not giving up on the ball. We will be working hard the rest of the week on our defense and gaining confidence in our strengths. Getting to the finals is a great accomplishment. These girls deserve to be there no matter what our record reflects that doesn’t define how we have improved throughout the season. Great job Team!
