Representative Hite Announces Re-Election Campaign for Iowa House

(New Sharon, Iowa) – Today, Representative Dustin Hite (R-New Sharon) announced his re-election bid for Iowa House. Hite currently represents House District 79. Under the newly confirmed redistricting maps, will run for House District 88 in 2022.

“Serving my district is a humbling experience and I’m thankful to the voters of HD 79 for trusting me to represent them in Des Moines,” said Hite. “I work hard in the Iowa Statehouse to be a voice for my rural community and enact policies that make Iowa a better place to live, work, and raise a family. My work is not done, and I look forward to getting out and getting to know the people in the new House District 88 in the coming year as I ask for their vote.”

Iowa House District 88 includes most of Mahaska County, all of Keokuk County and parts of Jefferson County. Hite’s current district, which he will continue to represent through 2022, includes the Western half of Mahaska County and the Northeastern portion of Marion County including the town of Pella.

Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley said Hite has become a reliable member of the House Republican caucus.

“Since his first term in the Iowa House, Representative Hite has taken a lead on major legislation to improve the lives of Iowans,” said Grassley. “He’s a strong leader and an unwavering voice for his district. I look forward to him continuing his work in the Iowa House.”

Hite will be seeking his third term in the Iowa House. He lives in New Sharon with his wife Kate and his two kids.
