Oskaloosa–Two William Penn baseball players were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athletes.

Chris Redfern (Sr., Stratford, Ontario, Digital Communication), with a 3.57 Grade Point Average, and Ricky Alvarez (Sr., Sylmar, Calif., Sociology), with a 3.50 GPA, both earned their first awards. The NAIA announced that 266 baseball players were awarded the laurel.

To be eligible, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
