Ravagni, Andrews Collect CSC Academic All-District Laurels

Oskaloosa–Tiago Ravagni (Sr., Buenos Aries, Argentina, Industrial Technology) and Luke Andrews (Sr., Andover, England, Sports Management) gained postseason accolades as the College Sports Communicators academic all-district men’s soccer teams were announced recently.

Ravagni owns a 3.95 Grade Point Average, while Andrews currently has a 3.83 GPA.

The award from CSC (formally College Sports Information Directors of America) recognizes athletes for their performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic all-district honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

Ravagni played in 17 games (14 starts) and tallied one assist, and Andrews played in 20 games with 16 starts and assisted on two goals. The helped William Penn to an 11-7-3 record (6-4-2 Heart of America Athletic Conference). With its advancement to the Heart Finals, WPU earned an automatic bid to NAIA Nationals, eventually closing its season in the Opening Round first round. The Statesmen posted eight shutouts this fall.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must own a 3.50 GPA, be a starter or important reserve player, attend the nominating institution for at least one year, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
