rause Earns Defender of the Week Accolade

Oskaloosa–Landon Krause (Sr., Appleton, Wis., Business Management) put up huge numbers all around, but defensively is where he earned recognition as he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Volleyball Defender of the Week Monday.

The senior earned his second award of the campaign (second time as Defender, sixth total honor of his career) after guiding William Penn to a 4-0 record last week.

Krause posted 41 digs (2.93 per set) and 20 blocks (1.43 per set) last week, tying for first on the squad in digs and finishing second in blocks. He tallied a week-high 14 digs against Missouri Baptist last Friday and had a week-best eight block assists versus Morningside last Saturday.

The right-side hitter certainly could have won the Attacker of the Week laurel as well, recording 54 kills (3.86 per set) on a .342 hitting clip. Overall, Krause managed three double-doubles (kills and digs).

For the year, Krause has tallied 180 kills (3.75 per set) with a .351 attack percentage. He has also recorded 14 aces, 94 digs (1.96 per set), and 51 blocks (3 solos, 48 assists, 1.06 per set). Of his 13 matches, he has notched four double-doubles.

The award is the third for William Penn this year.
