Question of the Week: Are you concerned about the recent events in Egypt?

U.S. State Department

Last week, we asked you who you felt will win the fight between Tom Miller and Terry Branstad. 39 residents responded with 18 residents (46%) saying Branstad, 13 residents (33%) say Miller, and 8 residents (21%) saying Neither. The Question of the week poll is unscientific and doesn’t represent the views of Osky News.

This week, we switch to an international issue. For a couple of days now, we have been hearing of tensions in the African nation, Egypt. It all started with some anti government rallies early last week. The rallies then turned violent with civilians and some police officers being killed. Despite cries from the protesters to step down, the Egyptian President refused to leave. However, some of his top officials did including his Vice President.

The past weeks riots have caused to spread concern throughout the United States and the rest of the world. Some fear that Islam may spread throughout the nations in the middle east and could lead to the rise of a new Muslim nation. Meanwhile, others have not expressed any concern over the matter. They say that it will just run its course and is nothing to be afraid of right now.

Now it’s your turn to decide. Vote in our online poll. The poll will remain open until next Sunday at 9 pm when we will close the poll and release the final voting numbers. If you have any questions or comments, e-mail us at info@oskynews.org or visit our Facebook page.
