Putzier’s Record-Breaking Outing Garners Heart Award

Oskaloosa–Breck Putzier (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) produced the single-greatest performance in program history, and for that he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

Putzier claimed his third laurel of the campaign (sixth of his career) after leading William Penn to a dismantling of Mount Vernon Nazarene last Thursday. In the win, WPU scored a school-record 33 goals.

In the victory, the junior took 21 shots (13 on goal) and scored on 10 of those attempts. He added seven assists to finish with 17 total points, demolishing his own previous single-game record of 13 points. Putzier, who also tied the record for goals in a game, collected three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

For the season, Putzier has tallied 44 goals with 49 assists for 93 points. He has also managed 37 ground balls with nine caused turnovers.

The award is the sixth of the season for WPU.
