Putzier Takes Award After High-Scoring Games

Oskaloosa–Breck Putzier (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) had two of the best offensive outings of his career and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

Putzier collected his first laurel of the season (fourth of his career) after leading the Statesmen to a pair of non-conference victories.

The junior scored six goals and two assists against Missouri Baptist last Thursday. The following day, the attacker set a new career record with seven goals in addition to four assists for an 11-point performance versus Taylor. It is the fourth time in his career that he has eclipsed double figures in points.

Putzier pestered the opposing goalkeepers from start to finish, recording 32 total shots (21 on goal) last week and also picking up 10 ground balls.

For the season, Putzier has scored 24 goals with 25 assists, along with 18 ground balls and five caused turnovers.

The award is the first for William Penn this year.
