Powderpuff Football: White team beats Maroon team
In what was a thriller of a game, the white powderpuff football team defeated the maroon team 37-28. The maroon team quickly got on the board making the score 7-0. A touchdown run by Brook Almond in the second quarter brought the score 14-0. The white team was determined to stay in the game and with less than 5 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, a saftey by the white team brought the score 14-2. The White team was not done.
Their momentum picked up after they drove the a ball down field to put them a couple of yards out with less than a minute in the 2nd quarter. An attempted touchdown pass to Libby Boer would have brough the score to 14-9, however the pass was called back on holding. Shortly thereafter, another touchdown pass to Libby Boer was called back on an uknown penalty. The Maroon team took posession and let the clock run out.
In the 2nd half, a touchdown by Sam Lowry put the score at 16-14 in favor of the white team. The Maroon team was not giving up. A touchdown by Lyric Morris put the score up to 21-16 in favor of the white team. However, in the 4th quarter, the white team showed the Maroon team what they were made of as they put 3 more touchdowns on the board. An additional last minute touchdown by the Maroon team put the final score at 37-28 in favor of the White Team.
After the girls home volleyball match tonight, come out and watch Powderpuff Volleyball at around 8:00 pm in the high school large gym.
