Pella Overwhelms The Indians

by Jodi Steinlage

The girls’ soccer team was in action last night against #3 Pella. It wasn’t the Indians night and would fall to the Dutch 9-0. The loss moves their record to 6-4.

“We did a pretty good job in the 1st half with a stiff wind in our face and slowing a very good Pella team. We gave up 3 goals in the 1st half, but all three are fixable mistakes.”

The 2nd half would unfortunately see the scoring gates open for Pella as the Indians would give up 6 goals.

“The score doesn’t reflect how much better they are than us. We didn’t have our best night, but I was proud how the girls continued to be physical and kept playing. It can be hard when the score slowly builds up like that, but they kept fighting until the end. It was also nice to see some our younger girls get in and fight against the starters of Pella and not back down.”
