Pella Girls End Oskaloosa’s Win Streak
The Pella girls came to Oskaloosa with a lot of momentum and cruised to a 60-15 win. Pella held Osky scoreless the first eight minutes, leading 110 after one quarter. Pella continued their dominance in the second quarter with strong defense and potent offense to build a 34-4 halftime lead. Pella’s pressure defense forced Osky into 18 turnovers in the first half and Pella’s leading scorers Emily Holterhaus and Grace Held combined for 27 first half points.
Pella kept things flowing in the second half building a 52-11 lead after three quarters on their way to a 60-15 win. Osky was led by Lindsay Holmberg with four points, Marleigh Denberger added three while Amanda Fay, Kaylee Johnson and Macy Krier each added two. Osky had no answer for Pella’s leading scorer Holterhaus who dumped n 19 points, Grace Held added 16 and Madison Naig contributed 12. Osky fell to 2-8 overall and 1-4 in KHC play heading into the Holiday break while Pella improved to 6-3 and 4-1 in LHC play. Oskaloosa returns to action at Induanola on Tuesday January 4th.
