Pella Dutch Captures Lead Early to Defeat Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity)

Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to Pella Dutch on Friday. Pella Dutch took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Pella Dutch, giving up ten runs.

Pella Dutch fired up the offense in the first inning. Kellan Shull drove in one when Shull singled.

A single by Jaden DeRonde in the second inning was a positive for Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity).

Caleb Stewart got the start for Pella Dutch. The righthander went six innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking one.

DeRonde was on the pitcher’s mound for Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity). The bulldog allowed seven hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Garrett Roethler and Lukas Toubekis entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Kam Criss, Jarrod Parks, Toubekis, and DeRonde each collected one hit to lead Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity).

Pella Dutch tallied nine hits on the day. Shull, Joe Bokhoven, and Tate Weesner all managed multiple hits for Pella Dutch. Shull went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pella Dutch in hits.
