A week off definitely helped the Oskaloosa Girls as they showed improvement in every part of their game, however, Pella Christian left with a 50-39 win Friday night.

Oskaloosa switched up their lineup, giving Sophomore Amanda Fay a start, and it was evident they were determined to feed Fay often in the post while using leading scorer Marleigh Denberger as more of a perimeter player. Fay scored eight points while Denberger dropped 15 points including four three-pointers.

Freshman Maci Krier also hit two long-range bombs and finished with eight points while Lindsay Holmberg added six.

Oskaloosa was more patient offensively, moving the ball around to find the open shot, and had several great looks that didn’t drop throughout the game.

Pella Christian was led by Emma Huisman’s 15 points, while Chloe Morgan added 13 and Alison Van Gorp scored 12.

Oskaloosa fell to 2-10 overall, and 1-6 in Little Hawkeye Conference play and returns to action at home Saturday night in nonconference action vs. Washington starting at 6 pm.
