Patrick Howard Williams, 61, of Oskaloosa died Friday, September 21, 2012, at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born September 20, 1951, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Kenzie M. and Sherry A. Gorman Williams. He graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1969. On June 26, 1985, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Pottorff at Oskaloosa. He worked various places throughout his life including: Pella Corporation, Paslode, The Door Shop, and the Oskaloosa Herald. Lastly he worked at Wal-Mart in Oskaloosa until ill health forced his retirement in March of 2012. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Oskaloosa. Pat was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan. He enjoyed grilling and the out of doors. He delighted in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Pat was always willing to help out family and friends.

Pat’s family includes his wife of over 27 years, Becky Williams of Oskaloosa; two children, Chelsea Williams (& Anthony Skinner) of Ottumwa and Todd Williams (& Ryan Ruby) of Oskaloosa; a stepson, Josh (& Stacey) Myers of Ottumwa; two grandchildren, Jeremy Williams and Elizabeth “Ellie” Skinner; two step grandchildren, Blake and Ty Myers; two sisters, Cindy (& Mike) French of Dahinda, Illinois and Debbie (& Tom) Walling of Oskaloosa; a brother: Mike Williams of Stanhope, New Jersey; his mother in law, Dorothy Pottorff of Attica; an aunt: Pat Noller of Webster City; brothers and sisters in law, Leanne Bregar of Bussey, Laurie and Kevin James of Knoxville, and Kenny Pottorff; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in law, Denise Mason; and his father in law, Orval “Pete” Pottorff.

Visitation will begin Monday morning after 9:00 in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa; the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Monday evening to greet friends and relatives. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. As was Pat’s wish his body will be cremated following the visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Memorials may be made to the Patrick Williams Memorial Fund.
