Osky Freshmen Defeat Pella

The Oskaloosa Freshman football team had their last home game of the season against Pella on Friday night and ended up winning by a score of 34-13.

The Defense came ready to play as they held Pella to 147 yds rushing and 27 yards passing on the night while constantly giving the Indian’s offense a short field to the endzone. Leading the way for the Indians on the tackle chart was Trey Parks(9), Cash Hall(7), Landon Romas(7), Kaiden Parker(5), Max Roach(4), Omar Garcia(3), Parker Jordan(3), AJ Walker(2), Elijah Roy(2), Brock Beerbower(2), Seth Bishop(2), Heavon Knox(1), Holden Braundmeier(1), and Bryson Ayala(1). The big difference maker for the Indians on defense was the 4 pass interceptions by Parks, Parker, Roach, and Walker who all had 1 a piece on the night.

The O-line played a great game as the offense had 37 carries for 225 yards and 3 touchdowns plus 14 pass completions for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night. Leading the running game for the Freshman Indians was AJ Walker with 178 yards and 1 touchdown run. The other 2 touchdown runs came from Kayne Boender. The receivers were led by Kaiden Parker with 7 catches for 120 yards and 1 touchdown, then Max Roach with 6 catches for 60 yards and Omar Garcia with 1 catch for 15 yards and a touchdown. Throwing the ball Friday night was done by Kayne Boender who ended up 19-14-195yds and 2 touchdown passes.
