by Tony Witt

The Oskaloosa Boys and Girls participated in the Newton Bowling Invitational on Saturday December the 4th for our first bowling meet of the year. The Girls finished in 4th place for the tournament. Kaylee Haugen led the way for the girls with a 2 game high total series of 259 for the team and Jennah DeRonde had the high game for the team wit ha 143 game. We definitely need to be working on the picking up our spares to be more competitive with our scores.

The Boys finished in 2nd place for the tournament. They were led by freshman Trey VanWyk with a high game of 227 and the high 2 game series for the team with a 420 series. Zach Fee had 2nd high game with a 219 game and Jarrett Czerwinske had 2nd high 2 game series with a 373. Trey also earned a 2nd place overall medal in the singles. Trey did a great job for his first ever high school bowling meet. They Boys will need to got a lot more consistent bowling from the other 4 teammates as the year progresses.
