Osky 8th Grade Wins At Home Over Knoxville

The Oskaloosa 8th graders played at home Tuesday night against Knoxville. The “A” team came out victorious with a 20-14 score. The Indians got on the board in the 1st quarter on a 12 yard pass from Tyler Edgar to Kolby Williams. Knoxville scored right before half to go up 8 points. After halftime Dawson Boertje blocked a punt to set up good field position. Edgar completed a long pass to Oscar Chambers to the 1 yard line. From there Edgar would sneak it in. Jerimiah Reeves converted the 2 point conversion to tie the game at 14-14. Boertje blocked another punt in the 4th quarter. Then from there Edgar completed a pass to Tommy North. Eventually, Edgar pounded it in from the 6 yard line to go up 20-14 with 27 seconds left. After the kickoff Cael Ashman intercepted the Knoxville pass to end the game. Oskaloosa’s record is now 1-4 and play again Thursday at home vs Sigourney.

The “B” team won by a score of 24-0 last night. Will Steen scored two touchdowns in the game. One from 3 yards out and the other on a long reception from the pass of Brady Shinn. Courtland Metier also scored on a 8 yard run. Shinn had a touchdown run from 25 yards out for the final score. The “B” team record ends at 1-2-1 for the season.
