Oskaloosa XC Starts The Season Off At Williamsburg

The Oskaloosa Cross Country teams started their seasons at Williamsburg Tuesday. The boys finished third in the 12 team meet with 82 points behind Newton and Williamsburg. The Indians were led by Patrick DeRonde placing sixth with a time of 18:16, and Brayden Van Kampen finished seventh in 18:31.

Other Indian finishes included Caden Ayala 20th, Aden Scott 24th, Kadin Gerard 25th, William Leonard 29th, Jack Dawson 35th, Phillip Abrahamson 38th, Hayden Nienkirk 46th, Keygan Roberts 53rd, Jasion Anderson 64th, Colton Eaton 66th, Zach Tarr 71st, Andrew Otto 73rd, Braden Smith 74th, Traton Shilling 78th, Lawson Morris 80th, Sage Cochran 87th, Elliot Adam 96th, Ryan Walter 99th, Elliot Nelson 100th, Aaron Wilson 103rd, Khydin Yang 107th and Ethan Herr 108th.

The girls finished sixth with 139 points. Addi Carter was the top Indian runner finishing 18th in 23:09. Sage Adam finished 21st and Abby Lumsdem 23rd. Other Indian finishes included Olivia Stodghill 42nd, Addy Dykstra 52nd, Paiven Knoot 78th, Trisha Van Donselaar 79th, Hayley Westercamp 81st, and Lindy Slocum 84th.

Head Coach Mike Comfort said, “Overall I’m really happy with how we ran. Our focus was on competing hard, running together and setting a bar for the rest of the season. I saw a lot of gutsy performances and we’ve really improved over the last two weeks.”
