Oskaloosa Police Arrest Man On Drug Violations

An Oskaloosa Police Department Press Release

On March 24th, officers of the Oskaloosa Police Department were dispatched to the 700 block of North E for a report of a suspicious male wearing a black sweatshirt carrying a black bag walking in the timber along the railroad tracks. An officer located a male matching the description in a group of trees near Gorilla Storage.

The male was identified as Curtis Woods (44) of Oskaloosa. Woods was known to the officer to have a violent history with law enforcement. Woods told the officer that he had a marijuana pipe in his pocket, along with a small bag of marijuana. The officer then placed Woods under arrest, and a further search revealed 102.6 grams of methamphetamine, 35.7 grams of marijuana, 2 more pipes, and a scale with methamphetamine residue on it.

Woods was lodged in the Mahaska County Jail where he is held without bond.

His charges are:
Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine – class B felony
Fourteen counts of failure to affix drug tax stamp – class D felonies
Two counts of possession of a controlled substance 3rd or Subsequent – class D felonies
Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia – Simple misdemeanor

It should be noted that criminal charges are merely accusations, and all suspects are assumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
