Oskaloosa Middle School Cross Country Teams Secure Third Place Finishes in Knoxville Meet
The Oskaloosa Middle School cross country teams competed in Knoxville on a beautiful Tuesday evening, both teams finishing strong with third-place team results.
The girls’ team put together a great performance, with three runners finishing in the top 20. Preslie Bryan, Hazel Adam, and Payton Clark ran an impressive race together, helping to secure the team’s top finish. Ruth Goodrich and Ally Glandon also contributed by packing it up, while Alice Rice delivered a solid race. Preslie, Hazel, and Payton now hold spots in the top 10 for the Knoxville course, and both Preslie and Hazel moved into the all-time top 10 for the 1.5-mile distance—a remarkable achievement!
The boys’ team also delivered a strong showing, with all five top runners finishing in the top 20. Oliver Chilcote, Noah Ruckman, and Kylor Andersen-McVay led the team, all securing spots in the top 10 for the Knoxville course. Their teamwork was a key factor in the team’s success. Impressively, almost every runner on the team improved their 1.5-mile time compared to their performance at Oskaloosa, with some shaving off several minutes!
Oskaloosa Middle School’s cross country teams will be back in action next Tuesday, October 15th, as they travel to Centerville for their next meet.
