Oskaloosa JV Finds Success Against Fairfield

by Nick Coffey

Oskaloosa Vs. Fairfield

The High School JV Boys team played Fairfield this Tuesday. We started out strong and gained a nice double-digit lead to end the first quarter. Glad to see how they came out with great energy and intensity on both ends of the court to start the season. We had a sloppy second quarter and missed free throws were costly. I think we had a total of 15 plus missed free throws from the stats. Going into the second half the game was tied. The second half was all ours and we were not settling for 3 point shots like the first half and were attacking the rim and getting to the foul line consistently in the second half. We ended up winning by 7 points and overall we had a lot of key contributors that helped seal the win.

Team Stats:
Jake Stek led the way with 12 points and got to the free throw line for a total of 10 attempts.
Nathan Kelderman followed Jake with 12 points as well. Alot of great drives by Nathan.
Jamar Cisse had a solid game with 10 points. Had quite a few rebounds to go with the points.
Jarrod Parks played well with a lot of big finishes down low and finished the game with 10 points.
Carter Blanco played well and had 6 points. Was in foul trouble most of the game but gave us great minutes.
Aidan Scholes had 4 points and did a great job distributing the ball and playing great defense.
Karter Flaherty played very well and was fantastic for us on defense.
