Oskaloosa Girls Swimming Regroups At Grinnell

The Oskaloosa Girls Swimming team was in action at Grinnell on Tuesday. Head Coach Makenzie Kauffman said, “After a start to the meet that was not everyone’s best, the girls were able to regroup and refocus and conquered some major milestones.”

Sydney Slocum dropped four seconds off her time in the 200 freestyle and improved 27 seconds in the 500 freestyle to put her under the seven-minute mark for the second time in her swimming career. Makenzie Hicks dropped three seconds in her 200 freestyle and nearly 19 seconds in her 500 freestyle putting her under the eight-minute mark. Cienna Olinger (50 freestyle, Shannon Linder (200 individual medley and 100 backstroke) and Ashlee Smith (200 individual medley) all set new PR’s. Oskaloosa returns to action Monday at Fairfield.
