The Oskaloosa Girls came out of the holiday break cold, ice cold. If it could go wrong, it did it seemed, as Oskaloosa struggled all game long and never established any flow.

You can credit that, a lot, to a tough, energized, young, talented Indianola team. Four of the top five scorers for Indianola are freshmen or sophomores, but they don’t play like it as they erupted to a 23-3 lead after the first quarter. Osky found themselves down 43-11 at halftime, and a running clock moved the second half along quickly as Indianola gets the big win.

Freshman Mara Bishop led Indianola with 15 points, while Sophomore Kendall Clatt added 10. Osky was led by Emma Kelderman’s five points, while Jillian Jennings, Kaylee Johnson, Marleigh Denberger and Ashley Drost each added three and Amanda Fay contributed two.

Oskaloosa will have a full week to prepare for Pella Christian who comes to town next Friday night.
