Oskaloosa Girls Look to Keep Streak Alive Heading Into Holiday Break

by Jamie Brockman

The 2-7 (1-3 LHC) Oskaloosa Girls are riding a train of momentum they haven’t enjoyed in years, holding a two-game win streak heading into tonight’s home contest vs. Pella. The Lady Dutch handled byOskaloosa in both meetings last year 63-14 and 70-32, but this Indian squad is much more confident and looking to keep the streak alive heading into the holiday break.

Pella comes in at 5-3, (3-1 LHC) riding two lopsided wins over Newton and Norwalk and is averaging 55 points per game. Emily Holterhaus lead the Lady Dutch, averaging 15 points per game and Grace Held at 10 points per game. Oskaloosa has shown massive improvements in breaking the press and committing fewer turnovers as of late, and that’s sure to be tested tonight by a tough Pella defense.

On paper, everything favors Pella in this one, but, it’s my opinion, the Oskaloosa girls are a much different team than even a week ago, and will give the Lady Dutch more than they’re expecting.

Tonight’s game tips off at 6:15 pm. You can hear live coverage on Osky News Live powered by Thunder Country KIIC with Jamie Brockman and Bret Doud calling the action starting with pre game coverage at 6 pm.
