Oskaloosa Freshman traveled to Grinnell and came away with a 48-36 victory to keep their season rolling to a 4-0 record.

The game started off great as Oskaloosa scored on its first three possessions while the defense was holding their ground as the Indians jumped out to a 21-0 lead. The first score came on a 16 yard run by Darryl Fane. Then the Indian defense came away with a fumble recovery by David Nelson. This gave the Indians the ball in good field position and eventually scored on a 30-yard pass to Carson Genskow. After another defensive stop, the Indians were able to score from 3 yards out as Fane pushed the ball across the goal line.

The next defensive series ended in a Tiger touchdown and then an onside kick worked for the Tigers and were able to score again as the score was now 21-14.

On the Indians 4th offensive possession they were able to score again on a run by Will Schultz after some nice runs by Colin Snitker to get them down to the 6-yard line. The extra point was good again by Genskow as the Indians moved to a 28-14 lead.

The last score of the half was by Grinnell as they made it 28-22.
The second half started out with Grinnell having the ball but after a great defensive 3 and out series the Indians got the ball back. However, they did not keep it for long as they threw an interception to give the ball back to the Tigers. The very next play the Indians intercepted the ball back as Landon Hunolt returned it all the way for a pick-six, which made the score 35-22.

The next defensive series the Indians could not hold the Tigers out of the end zone, but they did stop their 2 point conversion to make the score 35-28. After a couple of defensive stops, the Indians were then able to score again as Schultz pushed it across the goal line from 5 yards out to make the score 41-28.

The start of the 4th quarter the Tigers were able to score again and made their 2 point conversion to make it a 41-36 ball game. The Indians scored again and made the extra point to make the final score 48-36 as the defense held and the offense was able to run out the clock.

For the Indians, Darry Fane led the team in rushing yards as he had 23 carries for 206 yards and 3 TDs. He was followed by Will Schultz who had 19 carries for 144 yards and 3 TD’s and then Colin Snitker had seven carries and 54 yards to finish the ground attack for a total of 404 yards of rushing by the Indians. In the air Osky was led by Carson Genskow with 30 yards and 1 TD while Colin Snitker had 16 yards, David Nelson had 15 yards, and Fane had 12 yards. Carson Genskow was able to make six out seven extra points for the Indians to round out the scoring.

Defensively for the Indians, they were able to hold Grinnell to 59 yards rushing but allowed 253 yards passing on the night. Colin Snitker led the Indians with 13 tackles, Darry Fane with 11 tackles, and then David Nelson, Khadin Yang, Dalton Plate, Christian Cavan, Will Schultz, Carson Genskow, Donovan Tighe, Dawson Braden, Blake Westercamp, Warren Feudner, Bobby Opheim, Bryce Beerbower all came in with 1-6 tackles per player. The big difference maker was the interception which was returned for a touchdown by Landon Hunolt who also had several pass breakups on the night.
