The Oskaloosa City Band performs each Thursday at 8pm in the evening during summer.

Thursday’s 8 p.m. city band concert features several selections arranged by C.L. Barnhouse Publishing composers. The band will play three Karl King marches, including: Free World, Torch of Liberty, and Allied Honor. Alto saxophone player, Gidget Utterback is featured in What A Wonderful World. Audience members will also hear Andy Clark’s arrangements of The Entertainer and Maynard Ferguzon’s Gospel John. Fans of the hit TV show, Glee, may recognize the city band’s version of Defying Gravity.

Each week this summer, there will be a prize drawing to help commemorate the band’s sesquicentennial celebration. This week’s prizes include gift certificates to local businesses and City Band t-shirts.

Order forms for City Band t-shirts will be available at the concert this week and next week. More information about the t-shirts and photos are available on the band’s Facebook page (Oskaloosa City Band Fan Page).
