Oskaloosa Boys Drop Second Straight Game

by Jamie Brockman

The Oskaloosa suffered their second straight loss at the hands of Pella Friday night 69-61 .  Oskaloosa fell behind early 6-0, but then found their groove, holding a 20-10 advantage after the first quarter.  Pella answered back in the second quarter, thanks to the long range shooting of Logan Shetterly and Jon Oltman, outscoring Osky 21-10 and headed to the locker room with a 31-30  edge over the Indians

The Little Dutch extended their lead to 48-39 after three quarters and eventually the 69-61 win.  Oskaloosa Senior and UNI recruit Cole Henry exploded offensively for 28 points, while Xavier Foster was once again a strong force defensively and added 16 points.  Unfortunately for the Indians, that was the bulk of the scoring as Austin Hafner scored six, Tyler Miller four, Noah Van Veldhuizen three and Isaac Schultz and Rian Yates each contributed two points.  The Indians have now lost two straight conference games to Norwalk and Pella and head into the holiday break at 7-2 and 3-2 in the LHC while Pella improved to 6-2 and 4-1 in the LHC.   Oskaloosa returns to action at Indianola on Tuesday January 4th
